Profile

Will is certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Civil Litigation, and is a seasoned litigator in professional liability litigation, Canadian intellectual property and alternative dispute resolution. His practice focuses on intellectual property matters and information technology, from protecting IP in digital documents to copyright infringement litigation to legal opinions on emerging IP issues. He has decades of experience in professional liability litigation, including acting as counsel for the Law Society of Upper Canada, LawPRO and numerous law firms.

In addition to his trial work, Will is experienced in mediation and alternative dispute resolution, achieving workable settlements for clients in appropriate cases.

Will acted as a mentor with the Law Society of Ontario, and a volunteer with the former Ontario Bar Assistance Program, focusing on work life balance and mental health in the legal profession.

A well-respected community member, Will has ridden the Ride to Conquer Cancer six times with his friends and neighbours in the “Bloor West Village Idiots.” He is an avid sailor and racer and a member of Mimico Cruising Club where he held the position of Commodore. He is a visual artist, a musician and author of the book ENEMY ARROWS, a work of historical fiction that pays tribute to the city’s indigenous roots. Will has three grown daughters who live in Western Canada, where he spends happy times with them skiing, hiking, and exploring.
